In his own words
Just when he thought he had gained a glorious victory and had weakened the faith of most of the people of earth in the power of the Blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse from sin, God fills thousands of His people with the Holy Spirit, and there never was a people on the face of the earth, not even excepting Bible days, who trust in and exalt the Blood of Jesus Christ or magnify the work of Redemption through the Blood of Jesus more than the Pentecostal people are doing today. Further, in the last ten years I have been among most all orders of Christian people, including the different holiness movements, and I never heard the name of Jesus Christ exalted among any people as I have heard it among Pentecostal people. Is it any wonder that Satan would rage against such a people? Is it any wonder that cold, formal churches would hate such a people? Is it any wonder that the great divines who have been teaching that the days of miracles are past, that speaking in tongues, healing the sick, and all such things, have long passed away never to return again, should rise up against this movement and do all in their power to down it? It is the means that God is using to explode the ridiculous theories of every class of men on the face of the earth. Therefore it is drawing a heavier fire of the enemy than any other religious work in existence. It is the means that God is using to hasten the coming crisis. The Pentecostal experience and doctrine is the power that will stir the devil.
